Introduction to Critical Artefact..

For the second part of my assignment, I will be creating a video sequence or 'mash up' of an action film. I will be editing the film in the style of Christopher Nolan to show my understanding of his narratives and directing skills. I will be doing background research into Nolan's different narrative techniques in films, although the narratives in his films are very different, it will be interesting to see what I like and dislike and which I will be taking into consideration when creating my mash up. I have a few ideas of films that I would like to use to cut up and edit. Most of Nolan's films have action scenes throughout therefore it would be easiest to choose a similar one. Although they will have completely different plot lines, I will try to portray similar narrative styles. I am hoping to be able to portray Nolan's narrative styles through my mash up as well as the way he portrays characters (especially main characters). He tends not to use a linear narrative in his films however it depends on which one of his films I will be basing my mash up on. I am hoping to show a clear understanding of why i have chose to create a mash up of an action film but portray Christopher Nolan's styles and the clear differences between the director of the film i will be using and Nolan's.Throughout my research and making, I will be posting comments of my progress on this blog to show my production progress.
